Track Sherpa Paul Klahre led the second workshop on Youth, Peace & Security together with external experts Eliška Jelínková (Co-Director at the United Network of Young Peacebuilders) and Ehab Badwi (General Director of the Syrian Youth Assembly). Participants discussing the subject in-depth and deliberated how the Youth7 can drive ahead with meaningful youth participation in peace processes.
Another highlight of the Summit’s programme was an afternoon visit to the German Federal Foreign Office, where the Delegates met with three diplomats, among them Helga Barth, commissioner for human rights and sustainable development, who are currently involved in the G7 negotiations and experienced when it comes to the core issues on the Youth7 political agenda. This exchange was highly insightful for our Delegates, allowing them to experience the reality of diplomacy and enhance their advocacy of youth participation.
The day was rounded off by a sightseeing cruise on the river Spree and later, in the evening, a Gala Dinner with live music. A worthy celebration of the success of the Y7 Summit 2022!
